Boheme Syrah Occidental HillsOccidental Hills Syrah is a barrel selection from two estate-grown Syrah vineyards: English Hill (19%) and Que Syrah (81%). The two coastal plots were harvested on October 21st with a combined yield of 2.28 tons per acre. Following harvest, the grapes were combined and vinified as a single lot.The English Hill grapes (Clone 877) were included as whole clusters on the floor of the fermenter tank, while the Que Syrah grapes (Clone 1 and 877) were de-stemmed above. After cold soaking for five days, the must received hand punch-down treatment and periodic foot treading by the winemaker. The wine then aged 20 months in neutral French Oak barrels.
