Alexander Cabernet ReserveThe 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve from Alexander Valley is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah. About one-third American oak was used and the rest neutral wood. The wine was aged about 16 months. This is an attractive, medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with hints of bay leaf, underbrush, red and black currants, dusty, loamy soil notes and a touch of oak. It should be consumed over the next 3-4 years.
